Commissioners

The U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Commission is composed of four U.S. and four Israeli Commissioners, headed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the Chief Scientist of Israel as co-chairs. The Commissioners try to meet annually to assess achievements and set out future direction. The Commissioners can create working groups and involve other government agencies, as they see fit, to participate in activities related to their mission. This essentially includes the following:

1. Promoting cooperative science and joint projects in high tech
2. Academic exchange at universities and research institutions
3. Technology transfer and adaptation for commercial and civilian use
4. Private sector studies of trends, developments, and potential opportunities for bi-national collaboration.
