Steven L. Friedman
Partner, Duane Morris LLP
Steven L. Friedman has been a partner at Duane Morris LLP since 2005. Steven, the former co-chair of the Litigation Department at Dilworth Paxson, LLP, joins the firm's Philadelphia office as a member of the Trial Practice Group.
Steven focuses his practice on sophisticated corporate and commercial litigation in areas including but not limited to trademark and patent infringement. With more than 30 years of trial experience in several federal and state courts, Steven speaks and writes on issues of intellectual property, technology and e-commerce.
In 2003, Steven's knowledge of technology led to his appointment by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Don Evans to the high-level joint advisory panel of the United States-Israel Science and Technology Commission. In this role, Steven helps promotes collaboration between the U.S. and Israel to maximize the use of technology toward research and development projects in high-risk technology sectors. He is also a member of the board and audit committees of Regulatory DataCorp International, a New York-based organization which provides corporate and regulatory compliance tools to American businesses.
In the past 20 years, Steven has built a considerable background of community and political involvement. He served for more than ten years on the National Board and as local chairman of the American Jewish Committee. In addition to being a close friend and advisor to former Israeli Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Likud Party leader Benjamin Netanyahu, he served as General Counsel to the Likud Party of Israel in the United States from 1988 to 1999. He serves as a member of the Board of the College of Judea and Samaria in Ariel, Israel. Steven also serves as local chairman and on the National Board of the Republican Jewish Coalition, which works closely with President Bush and his staff on issues of importance to the American Jewish community and Israel.
Prior to earning his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1971, Steven graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in History in 1968.
