Current Projects
USISTF serving as the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Collaborative
USISTF serves as the premier business advocacy organization representing the United States and Israel’s top companies joined by other global companies to promote economic reforms with the goal of deepening trade and strengthening commercial ties.
We offer services to businesses in Israel and the United States including information, trade mission planning and working groups to develop policies to enhance the business environment for companies wishing to do business in both countries. USISTF caters to the industries that are already most familiar with the work of USISTF; a few examples include the life sciences, high-technology, and homeland security. Companies work together in the framework of working groups and Executive committees to forge a united front to forge policy advances that will benefit bi-national trade between the United States and Israel.
Partners
We partner with key industry and trade associations in the science and technology industry in Israel including the Israel Life Sciences Organization and the Israel Technology Transfer Network both founded by USISTF. Other partnerships include the American Chamber of Commerce in Israel, the Export Institute, Manufacturing Association and MATIMOP in the Office of the Chief Scientist of Israel. USISTF works with the variety of U.S. Israel Chambers of Commerce in the United States, other trade promotion groups such as the California Israel Technology Collaborative (CALiTC), and research and development offices in U.S. government agencies.
USISTF sees its missions as serving a direct link between business and government leaders aiming to increase trade and investment in science and technology cooperation. USISTF is uniquely positioned to advance this mission as it was founded by both the U.S. government and the government of Israel as the foundation to implement the programs of the government appointed U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Commission. Eli Opper, Chief Scientist of Israel, sits as the Chairman of USISTC, and would be a strong resource to the Business Council.
Programs and Services
Business Forums
USISTF holds regular business forums and events with senior Israeli and U.S. Government officials to discuss new development sin U.S.-Israel economic relations. The Council frequently meets with Israeli government offices and Knesset members visiting the United States and United States Congressmen and women visiting Israel. The Council’s working groups serve as forums for members to address key topics and recommend strategic actions for the Council to take in advancing members’ policy priorities.
Publications
The Council produces policy publications and statements highlighting member’s priority issues with a focus on science and technology that that are widely circulated to the senior levels of the Israeli and U.S. governments. The Council also provides members with regular update briefings and alerts about Israeli economic and political issues affection the science and technology community.
