Dr. Yoav Shoham
Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University
Yoav Shoham is Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, where he has been since receiving his PhD in Computer Science from Yale University in 1987. A graduate of the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, he also spent an abbreviated post-doctoral position at the Weizmann Institute of Science. He has worked in various areas of AI, including logic, game theory, and electronic commerce. Shoham is a Fellow of the Association for Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), recipient of the ACM-AAAI Newell Allen Award and several others, and charter member of the Game Theory Society. He is an author of four books, an editor of one, and an author of numerous articles. He is also a founder of several successful software companies.
