When the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Foundation and Commission developed the first ever plan for Israel’s economic future, they created a road map to a strong and prosperous Israel. Known as “Israel 2028: Vision & Strategy for Economy and Society in a Global World,” the goal of the plan was to have Israel rise to become one of the fifteen leading countries in the world (measured by World Economic Forum in terms of GDP per capita) within a dynamic global economy.
Israel 2028: Vision and Strategy determined that Israel’s long-term survival as a market economy and democratic society depends on economic success — and that same success will strengthen the unique strategic relationship between Israel and the United States. If Israel follows the plan, it will develop its scientific and technological capabilities, increase the value of its human capital, become more innovative, and raise its level of entrepreneurship.
